Scrum Master/Project Manager

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the timely delivery of a high-quality system that satisfies the business objectives. The PM uses the Project Management Process to direct the project from the initial Discovery phase through a successful launch. This involves ensuring the timely and accurate creation of all project documentation by working with managers and individuals across the organization. The PM creates, maintains, and tracks detailed project execution plans. The PM proactively identifies and immediately addresses all issues or risks impacting successful project completion.

This position provides vision, direction and motivation to the project team. The Project Manager works closely with the entire IT team interacting frequently with key IT leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads the project team through all phases of the Project Management Process.
  • Coordinates production of detailed project plans specifying the project’s technical scope, goals, objectives, staffing requirements, risks, technical materials, and allocation of resources.
  • Regularly reports overall project status to management and key stakeholders, escalating major issues as necessary.
  • Ensures the project progresses per the schedule by directing and coordinating the activities of project team members.
  • Facilitates identification of project risks/issues and creative approaches to issue resolution and problem solving.
  • Maintains a project repository of historical and current project information.
  • Facilitates team meetings and other day-to-day activities as required by the team.
  • Ensures the team is fully functional, cooperating and productive.
  • Shields team from external interferences and removes obstacles.
  • Administers and manages business relationships with the project’s external consultants and third parties ensuring they meet their project obligations.
  • Suggests and implements improvements to the Project Management Process, IT organizational processes and project management tools.
  • With the Business Analyst and Development Manager, provides the project team a concise vision and creates a positive team environment.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, or Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 4 + years of experience as project manager in an IT organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated history of successful project delivery.
  • Formal Project Management trainings or PMI certification.
  • Experience working in a Scrum or agile organization is preferred.
  • Knowledge of various project planning and tracking tools such as VSTS, Trello, MS Project.
  • Commitment to archive project in repository using tools such as Sharepoint, OneDrive or other information repository approaches.
  • Strong motivation and initiative.
  • Organized, detail orientated and thorough.
  • Strong planning skills – schedules, resource allocation, issue management, tracking, etc.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills as well as highly effective communication skills.
  • Ability to follow established processes – willingness to help improve processes and mentor others.
